Carpet Cleaning in Jacksonville & Gainesville

Deep carpet cleaning that refreshes wall-to-wall carpet and high-traffic areas. Professional equipment and careful technique across Jacksonville, Gainesville, Newberry, Orange Park, and North Florida markets.

What we focus on

Everyday soil, spills, and foot traffic settle into carpet fibers. Our deep cleaning approach is designed to refresh the look and feel of your carpets without a hard sell or a cookie-cutter process. We tailor each visit to the space, aiming for lasting results.

  • Living rooms, hallways, and bedrooms
  • Office and commercial carpet
  • Attention to problem spots you flag when booking
  • Eco-friendly, non-toxic approaches

Our carpet process: inspect, match the soil, extract, dry

  1. Inspection: walk traffic lanes, note fiber type, and mark stains or pet areas you care about most
  2. Soil type: match chemistry and method to oily kitchen soils, tracked grit, or spot treatments already tried
  3. Extraction (or VLM when it fits): clean systematically so you can see the difference along the wand path; commercial VLM when downtime is the priority
  4. Dry: set dry-time expectations before we start so you can plan airflow and foot traffic

Hot water extraction remains the stronger restorative choice for heavy soil. VLM can fit commercial maintenance when spaces need a faster return to service. See commercial carpet VLM programs and VLM vs HWE.

Pet urine: what cleaning can and cannot fix

Urine can soak past face fibers into backing, pad, or subfloor. Professional cleaning can address a great deal of soil and residue at the surface, and we will say plainly when contamination looks beyond cleaning alone. We do not make health claims or promise that every odor will be gone. Full guide: carpet cleaning & pet urine.

Carpet cleaning as our main work, not an add-on

Floor care is what we do every day. Each carpet visit starts with an inspection, the method is matched to the fiber and the soil, and drying is planned before we leave, so the results last longer between cleanings. More on how this compares: specialty floor care vs full property restoration.

Rentals, campus-area homes, and commercial traffic

We also help with rental turnovers, busy household carpets near university and medical areas, and workplace floors when a restorative clean (or commercial VLM) is the right fit. For a turnover, tell us the move-out date and the next move-in date, and we will plan the visit so the carpet is dry before keys change hands.

Carpet fibers we see most in North Florida

Fiber type changes how carpet responds to soil, spots, heat, and drying. We identify it on the walk-through, because the right approach for one fiber can be the wrong one for another.

  • Nylon is the most common fiber in homes and offices. It is resilient, takes restorative cleaning well, and traffic lanes usually brighten noticeably.
  • Polyester and PET feel soft and resist many water-based stains, but they attract oily soil. Kitchen-side and sofa-front areas often need a targeted pretreatment.
  • Olefin and loop-style berber hold up well in basements, offices, and rentals. Loops can fuzz under aggressive scrubbing, and spots can reappear as the carpet dries, so we use gentle agitation and careful rinsing.
  • Wool and wool blends are natural fibers that need milder chemistry and controlled heat. We test first and tell you what to expect before cleaning.

Not sure what you have? A photo of a label or a loose fiber from a closet corner helps, and we can confirm it on site.

Getting the room ready for a carpet visit

A little preparation makes the visit faster and lets us reach more of the carpet.

  • Clear small items such as toys, shoes, cords, plants, and anything fragile from the floor and low shelves.
  • Point out spots you care about most, and let us know what has already been tried on them.
  • Plan for pets to stay in a closed room or outside while we work and until the carpet is dry.
  • Leave parking open near the door we will use, and share gate or building access details ahead of time.

Heavier furniture can often be worked around. Ask when you book if you want specific pieces moved.

How a typical carpet visit works

We review high-traffic lanes and stains you care about most, choose an approach that fits the fiber and soil level, then clean systematically so you can see the difference along the wand path. Dry times vary by method and humidity; we will set expectations before we start so you can plan around the day.

Common carpet spots and what to expect

Most carpet calls include a few spots the owner has been staring at for months. Here is how the usual ones tend to respond, so you know what to expect before we start:

  • Gray traffic lanes: the path from the door to the sofa or kitchen is mostly oily soil and tracked grit. It usually brightens a great deal with pretreatment and thorough extraction.
  • Coffee, tea, and soda: fresh spills often come out completely. Older ones can leave a light tan mark, especially where a household spray was used and never rinsed.
  • Red drinks and dyes: fruit punch, sports drinks, and some medicines contain dyes that bond with nylon. These often lighten but may not fully disappear, and we tell you which spots fall in that group.
  • Spots that keep coming back: a stain that reappears days after a home cleaning is usually soil or soap residue wicking up from the backing as the carpet dries. Careful rinsing and extraction cut down on this.
  • Furniture dents: marks from couch legs and dressers often relax after a clean and a little grooming, though carpet under very heavy pieces may stay flattened.

Before the wand comes out, we walk the spots with you and say plainly which ones should come out and which may only improve.

Carpeted stairs, landings, and hallways

Stairs take more foot traffic per square foot than any room in the house, and the front edge of each step wears and darkens first. We clean stairs one step at a time with hand tools, working the edge and the riser where shoes scuff, then the tread. Hallways and landings get the same detail along the walls, where vacuums miss and soil builds into a dark border.

When you book, tell us how many stair runs you have and whether any are open on the sides, so we plan enough time to do them right. Many homeowners say the stairs are the change they notice most after a visit.

Keeping carpet looking good between cleanings

A few habits help a fresh clean last longer in North Florida homes and offices:

  • Vacuum traffic lanes slowly a couple of times a week. Most soil is dry grit that grinds fibers if it stays.
  • Blot spills with a white towel and plain water instead of rubbing. Rubbing spreads the spot and frays the fiber tips.
  • Go easy on store-bought spot sprays. Many leave a sticky residue that attracts new soil, which is why a treated spot can turn darker later.
  • Use mats at outside doors and a hard-floor landing zone by the garage, where sand and lawn debris come in.
  • Schedule a professional clean before the carpet looks dull. Soil that sits for years is harder to lift than soil that sits for months.

We take pride in carpet that still looks cared for months after we leave, not just on the day of the visit.

When to schedule carpet cleaning

Call when traffic lanes look gray, after pets or spills, before guests or a move-in/move-out, or on a routine cadence for workplaces. Pair with tile & grout or upholstery when those surfaces need attention too. For unexpected moisture, see water extraction.

Commercial option: VLM (low-moisture)

For businesses, we also offer VLM (very low moisture / encapsulation-style) carpet cleaning. It dries faster than hot water extraction with minimal disruption—ideal for recurring maintenance—while HWE (on our Everest 870 HP truckmount) remains the stronger choice for a deep restorative clean. We help you pick the right method for traffic, soil, and schedule. See commercial carpet VLM programs →

FAQ

Carpet cleaning FAQs

Who does commercial carpet cleaning in Jacksonville?

Duval Floor Care is a family-owned specialty floor care company (since 2019) serving Jacksonville and Gainesville, focused on quality specialty floor care rather than general restoration packages. We offer specialty residential and commercial carpet cleaning (including hot water extraction and commercial VLM where appropriate), not daily janitorial contracts. Who does commercial carpet cleaning in Gainesville?

Duval Floor Care is a family-owned specialty floor care company (since 2019) serving Jacksonville and Gainesville, focused on quality specialty floor care rather than general restoration packages. In Gainesville we clean commercial carpet in offices, churches, medical suites, and rental properties, using the same process we use in Jacksonville. Call (904) 437-3832 or email [email protected].

Do you offer carpet cleaning near me in North Florida?

Yes. We clean residential and commercial carpet across Jacksonville, Gainesville, Newberry, Orange Park, Oakleaf, Jax Beach, Yulee, Ponte Vedra, Middleburg, and other listed communities. Call (904) 437-3832 or email [email protected].

What is VLM vs hot water extraction for carpet?

Hot water extraction is typically the deeper restorative clean. VLM (very low moisture) often dries faster and suits recurring commercial maintenance. We help you choose. See commercial carpet VLM programs and VLM vs HWE (includes Jacksonville corridor notes).

Can carpet cleaning be combined with tile & grout?

Yes. Many clients schedule tile & grout and carpet in one planning conversation. Ask when you book via contact or estimate.

Do you handle daily office janitorial carpet programs?

No daily janitorial. We do offer scheduled commercial carpet maintenance programs: periodic VLM maintenance plus scheduled truckmount restorative cleans. See commercial carpet cleaning.

Can you remove all pet urine odor from carpet?

Not always. We address soil and spills you flag. Severe odor or pad/subfloor contamination may need more than cleaning, and we will say so. Read carpet cleaning & pet urine.

Can you clean wool or berber carpet?

Yes. Wool and wool blends get milder chemistry and controlled heat, and we test a small area first. Loop-style berber gets gentle agitation and careful rinsing so the loops do not fuzz and spots are less likely to reappear as it dries. Tell us the fiber when you book if you know it, or we will identify it on site.

How soon can we walk on the carpet after a cleaning?

It depends on the method, the fiber, the airflow, and the humidity that day. Hot water extraction usually needs several hours, and commercial VLM dries faster. Running the AC and ceiling fans helps. We give you dry-time guidance for your space before we start. Call (904) 437-3832 or request an estimate.

How is specialty carpet care different from a full restoration company?

We lead with inspection, soil type, extraction method, and dry planning for lasting results, not a bundled package that skips those steps. See specialty floor care vs restoration.

Why did a carpet spot come back after it was cleaned?

Usually because residue or soil deeper in the backing wicked up as the carpet dried. It happens most after home cleaning with sprays or rented machines that leave soap behind. Careful pretreatment, thorough rinsing, and good drying reduce it. If a spot returns after our visit, let us know.

Do you clean carpeted stairs?

Yes. We clean stairs step by step with hand tools, paying extra attention to the front edges and risers where wear and scuffs show first. Tell us how many stair runs you have when you request an estimate so we plan enough time.

What should I do about a spill before you arrive?

Blot it with a clean white towel and a little plain water, and avoid rubbing or soaking it with a store-bought spray. Let us know what spilled and what has already been tried, so we can pick the right treatment.
